Everyone with a heart for military personnel and their families is invited and welcome to attend our monthly meetings and events.

Healthy Families Nampa is sponsoring a one day training seminar to certify facilitators to start using this internationally recognized program.
This training workshop will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 9am to 4pm at Northwest Nazarene University (Wiley Center)in Nampa Idaho. The Wiley Center is located at; 608 Juniper, Nampa.
Your workshop instructor will be Bruce Swanson, Pastor from the First United Presbyterian Church.
PREPARE/ENRICH is an internationally used tool that helps clergy, lay leaders, and professionals in their marriage and relationship education and counseling practices.

The event will be at the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, 601 16th Ave South, Nampa Id. This honest, hard-hitting, hilarious weekend will begin Friday evening from 7:00 – 10:00 PM and Saturday February 23 from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Dr. Freeman is the Co-Chair of the Graduate Counseling Program at Northwest Nazarene University and Director of Families ETC. She will be sharing the results of the recently completed Families ETC. evaluation and data collection report and the impact of the program within the community and for individual clients.

| September 09 - Healthy Families - Nampa's tribute event for families of deployed military returns this year. This is an all day event devoted to those special families who have a member deployed overseas. The entire community comes together to support and fellowship with these families enduring a difficult time.

| Access to Visitation Program Training |

| July 10 8:30 am - 5:00 pm - Healthy Families – Nampa has developed a new program, “Access to Visitation.” The Access to Visitation Program will provide a child safe contact with an absent parent without being in the middle of the parents’ conflict. Safe, neutral locations offering fully supervised visits, semi-supervised visits and monitored exchanges will be offered. Currently there are no supervised visitation facilities that we are aware of in Nampa. This service will encourage both parents to stay involved in the child’s life and will promote positive parenting.
Healthy Families—Nampa is providing free training for those who would like to assist with this important program.
Training will be held July 11th and 12th. Please call 442-9988 to register.

| June 17 - June 18th - Healthy Families – Nampa conducts an annual community picnic and fair that honors fathers and their children. Held the Saturday before Father’s Day, the event is open to all Nampa families and serves as a healthy marriage, parenting, and fatherhood information sharing and educational opportunity. Fun activities and good food highlight this festive event.

| May 12 - May 13th and 14th Healthy Families Nampa is partnering with local churches, community agencies and the Idaho Department of Correction to provide much needed mentoring to currently incarcerated offenders and their families. Mentors are needed to coach and advise offenders to prepare them and their family for healthy reunification and successful transition into the community.

The entire month of March is devoted to promoting healthy families. Messages in television, radio and print media focus on healthy families, relationships and promoting responsible fatherhood and parenting. Special Healthy Families-Nampa events are conducted with a family focus. Scheduled media outreach includes bi-monthly Idaho Press Tribune articles and an annual KTVB March for Healthy Families public service campaign.

| February 13 - The second week of February is set aside for National Celebration of Marriage Week. Activities include honoring successfully married couples, meeting with state legislators to enhance awareness, and holding a community-wide service to celebrate marriage.

| November 13 8:00 am - 5:00 pm - November 14th-16th, Healthy Families-Nampa is a hosting a volunteer service provider training. The purpose of the training is to equip volunteers at the community level with skills to assist military families with post deployment transition.

| December 31 - In 2004, Healthy Families Nampa sponsored “Operation Yellow Ribbon” to honor our deployed military and their families. A free public concert, a community-wide car wash, and a free family picnic and food distribution highlighted the week. More than 400 family members participated. Family education information was distributed and families were invited to connect with Healthy Families – Nampa for additional services, including family counseling and parenting classes.
